From Brokenness to Redemption: Pastor Manny's Journey of Healing, Hope, and Faith

Updated: Dec 22, 2023

I am Manny Villareal Pring, a husband and father of four. My early life was marked by the struggles of growing up in a broken family, moving from one relative's home to another in Samar. Without the opportunity for education, I found solace in destructive behaviors like drinking, smoking, and substance abuse.

My knowledge of our Lord Jesus was nonexistent, and my misguided pursuit of happiness led me down a dark path. Even after getting married, my vices persisted, causing harm to my wife.

Everything changed when a missionary named Pastor Mark Pedder entered our lives. Witnessing the plight of my undernourished children, he enrolled them in a feeding program. My wife became actively involved in Pastor Mark's activities, eventually becoming a leader. My children were ever-present in youth activities, and my wife faithfully attended worship services. I felt like the odd one out, needing more participation in the work of the Lord.

Five years of persistent encouragement from Pastor Mark and my family finally led me to join them in church one Sunday. On that remarkable day, I surrendered to the Lord, and an overwhelming sense of joy and fulfillment enveloped me. It was as if a new understanding of our Lord Jesus wrapped around my entire being, sparking a profound transformation.

From that pivotal moment, my life took a new trajectory. Grateful for the five years of patient support from my family and Pastor Mark, I couldn't help but appreciate the Lord's work in my life. My wife and children had become beacons of faith and dedication, inspiring me to embrace the path of righteousness.

Presently, I find myself being utilized by the Lord as a laborer in His vineyard, right here in the very place where I once rebelled. In these times, as someone who has come to know and believe in the living God, I implore everyone not to grow weary in serving and dedicating time to the works of the Lord. This commitment brings order to our lives and families, fulfilling God's promises in all aspects—physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and financially.

In today's world, where I stand as someone acquainted with and faithful to our living God, let us not tire of serving and allocating time for activities related to our Lord. This is the key to bringing order to our lives and families and fulfilling the promises of God—physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, financially, and above all, the eternal life promised to us by our Creator. Let us be blessed by our Almighty Father.
