Massive Fire Ravages Aroma, Don Bosco

A devastating fire recently engulfed a significant portion of Aroma, Don Bosco, one of the areas we frequently visit. According to the Bureau of Fire Protection's report, the fire originated in Building 29 and quickly spread to Building 32, prompting a fifth alarm response due to its rapid escalation.

Tragically, around 600 families were displaced, with approximately 200 homes destroyed in the blaze. The estimated damage to property is a staggering P6.5 million, as reported by the BFP.

After hours of relentless firefighting efforts, the flames were finally extinguished past 5 o'clock in the early hours of Friday morning. However, the aftermath of the disaster left hundreds of families grappling with uncertainty and loss.

The affected residents crowded into the barangay's covered court, hastily converted into an evacuation center. Some opted to remain outside, perhaps overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of the catastrophe or seeking solace in the open air amidst the chaos.

The resilience of the community shone through amidst the adversity, as neighbors extended helping hands to one another, offering support and solidarity in the face of tragedy.

As the smoke clears and the community begins to rebuild, it serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of disaster preparedness and community resilience. While the scars of this fire may take time to heal, the spirit of unity and resilience will undoubtedly guide the community forward in their journey towards recovery.
